Working with fire victims in VIC schools
Since the devastating 2009 fires in Victoria Gabby has been working with a team of volunteers from ‘Morrison House’ and ‘Stone Soup Community’ to relieve some of the stress for students and teachers in the Yarra Valley area.
Eight children who lost their homes in the fires had their portraits drawn by Gabby and framed by Artist and Framer Craig Rawlings. These portraits were then presented to the families of the children.
Gabby is currently working with a young girl who lost her father in the fires to create a sculpture as a memorial to be placed in the school gardens.
